Create XML Sitemaps for WordPress Using SEO WordPress by Yoast Plugin | WP Learning Lab

In this tutorial, I will show you how to create an XML sitemap for your website. XML sitemaps are used by search engines, like Google, to easily find all the content on your website. They also help with SEO (Search Engine Optimization).

The easiest way to create an XML sitemap.

Although some people may call them Google XML sitemaps, it is actually a sitemap of your website that you SUBMIT to Google.

To generate a sitemap, you call a sitemap generator (very well named).

These are plugins that are created only as a sitemap creator, but there are some plugins that do several things as well. So you can get two birds with one stone.

One of these multi-function plugins is WordPress SEO by Yoast; it's the plugin that we highlight in this tutorial.

So let's go.

To install this plugin, log in to your WordPress dashboard, hover over Plugins, and click Add New.

On the next page, type "WordPress SEO by Yoast" in the search bar. The plugin we want should be the first one on the top left.

Click the Install Now button, and then click Activate after installation.

You will now see an "SEO" menu option in the left sidebar. Hover over it and click XML Sitemaps.

During installation, the plugin generates a sitemap immediately. You can click the XML Sitemap button to view it.

You can then access the User Sitemap, Post Types, and Taxonomies tabs to set the parameters for your new sitemap.

It's all there is to creating an XML sitemap. I hope this information helps you! If you have questions leave a comment below or ping me @WPLearningLab on Twitter.
