WordPress Admin Email – Where to Find and How to Change It | WP Learning Lab
In this tutorial, you will discover how to enter or change the email address of the WordPress administrator.
This email address is very important because plugins, themes and the core WordPress send important notification emails to this email address.
For example, the WordFence security plug-in will send you an e-mail when someone can no longer connect to your website. The WP Updates plugin will send you an e-mail when an update is available.
If these emails go to the wrong email address then you will not know what is happening on your website.
If your website was created by someone else, they often have their email address as the administrator 's email address with the intention of changing it once they' re done. They sent you the site. But sometimes, this piece is forgotten and the wrong e-mail address remains the mail of administration.
So check the settings of the email administration. First, log in to your WordPress admin dashboard. Hover over Settings in the left menu and click on General.
Halfway to the page that loads, you will see the WordPress Admin Email field. Make sure this field contains a valid e-mail address that is regularly checked by someone who will take care of everything that happens. Double check the e-mail address for spelling mistakes.
